- One thing you can bank on with Delaney's books, is that there's no drive-by drama. Her romances are steady and methodical, culminating in sigh worthy HEA's. Graham is such a steady, good guy, that you fall for him immediately. Bridgette is a fabulous heroine with her troubles and determination to overcome the world. Even though you know she's going to inevitably figure things out, you stay up way too late hoping it'll be in just the next chapter. A really endearing couple with a heartwarming story that gets you looking forward to what promises to be a great new series. A sweet clean romance.
- I love Ms. Cameron’s novels but I have to say this one jumps to the very top. She creates a beautiful journey of Bridgett learning to appreciate, value and finally love Graham. I just love how Graham loves her at first sight and shows her in kind and quiet ways. He is a man of principles as well as sincerely caring about those he loves. The unfolding of his true character is delightful to experience. Perfect!
- Romance, clean
This was more of a 2.5 for me as a reader. The dialogue \writing was a little simplistic lots of cliches. i could kind of predict what was coming. That being said I still like Graham and Bridget and their story so rounded up. - Graham is a modern version of a chivalrous knight. He doesn't just want Bridget; he loves her and so is willing to do what he can to help secure her happiness. Though not as handsome as Roman, he is far more attractive. Pretty darned swoony, in fact. ðŸ˜
Bridget is a strong woman who's refreshingly pragmatic despite being a romantic - but also a bit naive because of her wealthy and somewhat insulated upbringing. She loved her dad, and appreciated his help, but was determined to draw the line at letting him direct her personal life.
This is a sweet, gentle relationship development romance with wonderful characters that you wish you could meet in real life. You know they're going to end up together, but eagerly read to find out how they finally get there. I couldn't put it down & ended up staying up until I finished the book. I can't wait to see where Delaney Cameron takes it from here!
Clean romance level sweet kisses - This is a mostly well-written book. It was interesting - if not predictable- the way Roman’s arc played out. Graham is quite the standup character. Bridget is a calm, thoughtful person. It’s nice to see a story where people communicate instead of prevaricate and avoid difficult conversations.
I knocked off stars for two reasons
- It feels like a book should have preceded this one, but this is the first in a series. The author never revealed Jaclyn’s and Liam’s backstories. It’s as if she assumed we already know what went down with them. There were other inconsistencies like that throughout the book. Also, “very†should be banned from all writing.
- Food moralization. While there’s no explicit fat-shaming of bodies in this book, it does enforce the myth that dietary fat is bad. Ginny is praised for having a hearty appetite, but Bridget takes her clam chowder with a side of guilt. It gives the reader whiplash and is upsetting, particularly for people with eating disorders. - I love a romance that seems natural and inevitable. While this HEA is easy to see coming, I loved that the journey didn’t seem manipulated .
- I found this novel so unique because it was not the usual and common story. It was extremely interesting, full of selfless love from Graham, who loved with no hope of the love being returned. It was clean! You won't be able to put it down until you're done reading it. Absolutely worth reading. A job well done! Can't wait to read her other books! Thank you Delaney.
- This is a sweet and charming little romance with adorable and heartwarming characters that will definitely touch your heart and soul with their beautiful journey towards unconditional love and family.
