- This book strikes a nice balance between useful/applicable information and great story telling that make it a fun read. I've never had a hunting mentor, so I try to read and learn what I can about actual hunting, and of course learn best from the guys that have to get close, traditional bow hunters. There's not enough of this kind of information available out there. I think the author could use his skill of presentation and professional background to create an extremely useful field guide (biology/taxonomy) catered specifically to hunters. I finished the book inspired and wishing I could get in the woods immediately!
